What is 100+ Women Who Care?
~ A one-hour, no-frills event where 100% of all donations stay in Otsego County.
~ An opportunity to champion your favorite local non-profit. The evening’s winner will receive a $5,000 grant.
~ A chance to learn about the important work being done in our community.
~ A group of women who are positively shaping our community today and in the future. This year, invite a friend and grow this group!
~ A way to increase the impact of your contribution.
How It Works
~ Make a one-time donation of $100
~ Each participant can nominate a local nonprofit for the $5,000 grant. Eligibility requirements apply (see below) and must be approved by April 26th. See the nomination form below.
~ Four (4) nominated and approved nonprofits will be randomly selected at the event. If your nomination form is drawn, you can address the group and let them know why the nonprofit you nominated should get their vote! Speeches are limited to 5 minutes without any supporting materials. Speak from the heart. If a nominating participant's name is drawn and they are absent, another nonprofit will be selected.
~ A brief Q & A after each presentation.
~ Participants cast their votes. The nonprofit with the most votes receives a $5000 grant. Additional grants are awarded based on the number of registrants.
~ There is no proxy voting.
~ Half the monies raised at the event will be granted to local nonprofits meeting immediate needs, while the other half goes to the Community Fund to support tomorrow's needs.
~If you registered for the event and can't make it, your generous donation will go toward the evening's grantee(s) and to the Community Fund.
